TRAVEL GUIDE

Hotels
The following lists the hotels located close to the conference hall. A time of walking from these hotels to the conference hall is less than 20 min. Many other hotels are located within this city, especially in Odori (City center) and Susukino (Downtown) area. Since the Sapporo JR station (JR stands for "Japan Railway") (N06/H07) is connected to Odori Station (city center, N07/T09/H08) through an underground passage, a hotel in the above area should also be a good choice; you can come to the conference hall by taking a NANBOKU SUBWAY LINE (colored green in this subway route map, within 15 - 30 min). In the following list, the last 2 hotels are also located along the NAMBOKU SUBWAY LINE.

Traffics
An express train called "Rapid Airport" as well as the public bus connect the New Chitose Airport and Sapporo JR station. Taxis are expensive (costing more than 10,000 JPY to come to city center). We recommend you to use the Rapid Airport, since it is fast, and available in every 15-20 min (1,040 JPY / one-way ticket). The terminal of this train is located in the basement of New Chitose Airport. When you return to the airport from Sapporo JR station, the earliest train departs from the Sapporo JR Station at 6:15 AM and arrives to the New Chitose Airport at 6:53 AM (checked on 26-NOV-2013). Please click here to make sure the updated JR time table, in which Rapid Airport trains are indicated with red.

Flights

The international flights generally arrive to either NRT, HND, NGO, or KIX (IATA codes) airport in Japan. The connecting flights from these airports then arrive to CTS (New Chitose Airport). Please note that CTS is sometimes called differently, such as "Sapporo Chitose International Airport" , "Chitose Airport", or simply "Sapporo". The most frequent service is available between HND and CTS, like 1~2 flights per hr. In nowadays, several international flights especially from asian cities (Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guam, etc.) began to use CTS as the hub airport, and that you may use some direct flights to CTS.
